Have I ever mentioned how much I love Mendocino Farms? Oh yeah, maybe once or twice…
And this is a great example of why.
This amazingly high quality, super tasty and allergy-friendly sandwich shop is popping up in all the most convenient places. Newest spot: just across from the Farmer’s Market/Grove on Fairfax. It officially opens to the public on Thursday, May 31st at 11AM and I was lucky enough to attend the preview Tuesday night with a guest.
The layout, design and ordering format is consistent with the other locations. Big open space, high ceilings, great outdoor space (complete with faux grass lined benches) and high efficiency ordering system. Oh yeah, and the salad samples, flowing abundantly. All this and the friendliest staff ever. Seriously – the Mendocino training program must be jam-packed with rainbows and butterflies to get everyone so happy all the time!
And the food – just as good as always. We ate the Farm Club (on GF bread) and the Pork Belly Bahn Mi. I was hoping to try one of the Spring Specials – The Shrimp Po Boy – but it was already sold out (?) so I defaulted to my trusty club. I must say, the GF bread held up a lot better than it normally does. Maybe the Sensitive Baker’s recipe has been tweaked a bit? Big improvement over the usually soggy mess I end up with, so whatever the change is, I hope they keep it up!
Go check it out – I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
