Recipe: Broccoli Slaw with Raisins and Sunflower Seeds

Have you ever noticed the bags of broccoli slaw at the supermarket and thought “that would be such a great alternative to coleslaw – now if I only had a great recipe…”

Well, it’s your lucky day. This is a simple, fast and easy one that will be a great addition to any BBQ or side for a lunchtime sandwich. The crunchy broccoli is complemented perfectly by the sweet raisins and salty seeds, bound together by a fresh-flavored dressing. Naturally Gluten and Dairy free, this is definitely a keeper summer-recipe!

Broccoli Slaw with Raisins and Sunflower Seeds

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of Broccoli Slaw
  • 2 tablespoons of Mayo
  • 2 teaspoons of Cilantro, chopped (I used frozen)
  • 2 teaspoons of raisins (black or golden)
  • 1 teaspoon of sunflower seeds
  • Salt/Pepper
  • Olive Oil (optional)

Method:

Prepare the dressing in a small bowl by combining mayo, cilantro, salt and pepper . If too thick add a bit of olive oil to thin the mixture. Toss with Broccoli, Raisins and Seeds. Voila!
